Picasso

This is my Picasso self-portrait. My mark was a 7.5. The task was to paint in Picasso-style. I liked my painting, I think one of the best I made this year. The thing I don't like, is the background. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to make that.

This is my poem about Judith Leyster. I think the letters are okay, but the background is too bright and she's a ginger, which wasn't supposed to look like that. But overall, I think the end result is okay.

Edited Photo

This is my edited photo of myself. I took four photos, edited them separated, and them edited them in a collage together. I used Picnik to edit them. Every photo is edited on a totally different way, and they all explain a side of me.

The first photo (left one) shows a sort of galaxy on the background. I tried to reverse the colors, so it gives a very weird effect. And I think that that is one of my sides: weird. Weird, and hard to understand, but your first impression is probably happy.

The second picture is quite normal and relaxed. I think that I also have a normal and relaxed, maybe even shy, side. Even though I don’t show that side a lot, it is there. I edited the picture in a 1960’s effect, which refers to the fact I love the style and fashion of that time.

The third photo has different layers of edits, which you can’t all see. That’s kind of a hidden message, I have a lot of things that are inside of me, that I won’t show, but they are there. The other big message is, the blurry effect of the background. My world can be very blurry (e.g. when I don’t wear my glasses hahaha), also because my parents are divorced and that causes a little drama sometimes. The blurry effect is made with the ‘Cristal Effect’. I didn’t gave myself the crystal effect, because I wanted to give the impression that the world around me is blurry and vague, while I always try to stay focused.

The last picture is again a calm and relaxed one. Now I edited some text in it. Because I had to rotate the photo to get it in the collage properly, the text isn’t that readable anymore. The text says:
Didnt they always say, we were the lucky ones
I guess that we were once, babe we were once.
But luck will leave you cause it is a faithless friend
and, in the end, when life has got you down
you have got someone here
that you can wrap your arms around

So hold on, to me tonight, hold on, to me tonight
We are stronger here together,
than we could ever be alone

So hold on to me, dont you ever let me go.
Theres a thousand ways for things to fall apart
But its no ones fault, no, its not a fault
Maybe all the plans we made, might not work out
But I have no doubt, even though its hard to see
I have got faith in us, I believe in you and me
So hold on to me tonight, hold on,
I will promise it will be alright
Cause its you and me together,
and baby all we have got is time

So hold on to me, hold on to me tonight
There is so many dreams that we have given up
take a look, at all we have got
and with this kind of love,
what we've got here is love
They always said we were the lucky ones….

The text are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs, ‘Hold On – Michael BublĂ©’. I pasted the text into the (already edited) photo, and I let it fade a bit into the background. I think this photo shows the calm, and maybe a bit sad side of me.

Collage Describing Myself

This is my collage about myself. I used a lot of pictures of my idols, like Justin Bieber, Rihanna (self-made photos (!!!)) and One Direction. I like the right side of the collage, because i have nice pictures on there, and they're close together there. The left side, I had to do in a rush, so they're far away from each other, and i don't like the pictures on there. I'm satisfied with my collage, so also with my mark, a 7.3.

Selfportrait Van Gogh style

We had to make a selfportrait of ourselves in artclass. It had to be in Van Gogh style, and that was very hard. We also had to show two different emotions using colours and different shapes of lines. I tried to make the emotions confused and relaxed. I kind of forgot we had to show the emotions so I tried to put them in later. I don't like the result, because it doesn't look like me, but I do like the Van Gogh style in my painting.

Art assignment in Lille

Our assignment was to make three drawings of a painting you liked in a museum in Lille. For some reason, we could not go inside the museum, so we were told to make three drawings of art in the city itself. I've chosen three things I really liked, and I drew them as accurate as possible. I drew the window above the entrance of the museum, the clock on the postoffice of Lille and a piece of painting that hang on the museum.

Gargoyles

The assignment was to make a gargoyle. You could use your fantasy, and make it as crazy as you wanted. I didn't have a lot of inspiration, so I searched on the internet to get ideas. Finally, I made this gargoyle. I didn't use any colours, because I knew I would screw it up.
