Selfportrait Van Gogh style

We had to make a selfportrait of ourselves in artclass. It had to be in Van Gogh style, and that was very hard. We also had to show two different emotions using colours and different shapes of lines. I tried to make the emotions confused and relaxed. I kind of forgot we had to show the emotions so I tried to put them in later. I don't like the result, because it doesn't look like me, but I do like the Van Gogh style in my painting.

Art assignment in Lille

Our assignment was to make three drawings of a painting you liked in a museum in Lille. For some reason, we could not go inside the museum, so we were told to make three drawings of art in the city itself. I've chosen three things I really liked, and I drew them as accurate as possible. I drew the window above the entrance of the museum, the clock on the postoffice of Lille and a piece of painting that hang on the museum.

Gargoyles

The assignment was to make a gargoyle. You could use your fantasy, and make it as crazy as you wanted. I didn't have a lot of inspiration, so I searched on the internet to get ideas. Finally, I made this gargoyle. I didn't use any colours, because I knew I would screw it up.

Cathedral Project

Our assignment was to 'build' the highest and most beautiful church in the whole region. Our group (Claire, Aafke, Jitske and I) wanted to make a church that was totally made of glass. It was a unique idea, and we really liked it. The design of the church is made by Aafke, the map of the church by Claire, the list of materials by Jitske and the list of craftsmen and tools to make stained-glass windows by me. I think we did a good job, and we're a very good team.

Step 1:
Divide the tasks in the group.
Jitske: the list of materials
Aafke: the design of the church, the rose window
Claire: the map of the church
Frederique: the list of craftsmen, the list of materials (for stained-glass windows)

Step 2:
Do some research about your task.
I found a lot of information about the craftsmen that make wooden doors and statues, but there was almost no information about the stained-glass windowpainters.

Step 3:
Make your assignment.
Jitske and I both made lists of the materials. I did the Dutch, and she did some research for the English names.
After that, I started making my lists about the craftsmen and the tools.

Step 4:
Put it all in one folder and hand it in.

Step 5:
Put the photos and assignment on Blogger.com.

the materials (in english)
the materials (in dutch)
the tools for stained-glass windows.
the craftsmen (in dutch and english)
the map of the church.

Gargoyles

This is only my sketch of my gargoyles, because I lost my good one... I will post it when I find it.

Collage Tropical (Mrs. Dierendonk)

This is my collage and my word field. The word field is pretty nice, but my collage didn't really worked out, because I lost all my clips, so I had to start over again. My theme was TROPICAL, as you can see, and I liked the theme, because it isn't really hard to think of words that have to do with TROPICAL.

Relief printing with drove chisel

These are my paintings. The last photo is the sketch. The painting has the shape of a heart with a letter F, a puzzle piece and a horse. The heart stands for my friends and family, the letter F for my name and for me, the puzzle piece for my complicated life and my history, and the horse for my hobby: horseriding. It worked out quite well, I think they are nice. Some are not really good, because the printing press didn't work properly and I am not really strong...
